Games to Play With 1-5 Year-Olds

Sticky finger games are a fun way to learn how to use your hands. All you need is some sticky-sided plastic and a few different sized balls. Put a balloon in the middle of the pile and your child must hit it to get it to the other side. Make a ramp and a book to use as the ramp. Your child will love playing this game, and you will be glad you made the effort.

Balloon volleyball

Balloon volleyball is a fun way to engage children in a creative activity. To play this game, string a balloon between two chairs and ask the children to keep it from hitting the floor. For balloon hockey, get a small cardboard hockey stick and a string. A laundry basket or box placed on its side can be used as a net. The goal is for the child to hit as many letters as they can with the ball.

Hide and seek

Hide and seek is a classic game. The idea is to hide objects and find the person who is hiding them. Be sure to supervise the children at all times, as marbles are a choking hazard. In addition to the traditional games, there are many other types of games you can play with your child. Try making up your own games or incorporating the classic ones into your daily routine.
